Wsup Black Man! Once again let me start off by saying I love you! And that I appreciate you!
Today I want to tell you to Keep Going!
Yep, KEEP GOING!
Whatever it is that you are working on, thinking about starting up, been putting off... just keep going! No matter how big or small it is, keep going! I speak with Black Men all the time that have things that they were doing or trying to do but for some reason or another, the project has been left incomplete. All that stops today! Why? Because we are going to change our mindset and our approach to whatever needs to be done. And above all else, we are not going to quit! Remember Progress is Progress! Let's get into it!
Black Man, there is no such thing as failure, only quitting… And I know I am not talking to a quitter because this Man Talk Tuesday doesn’t go out to people who are quitters. Your energy attracted this positive message, so you can’t be a quitter! Therefore it’s no need to beat yourself up for putting it off or haven't yet finished what you have started. Shake it off, reset, and get back to the grind. No matter how hard, how tiring, or flat-out annoying the task may become, you have to look inside and remember that God created you with the intellect and gave you the fortitude to complete whatever is placed before you.
Most of the time we put things off or put things down because we are wired to think we must get things done all at once. What typically happens is, you get started on the project and somewhere along the way, you see that it is going to take longer than you anticipated to complete it and you stop. Black Man, the problem isn't the size of the task, the problem is your approach to it!
Here is a quick solution. Break the task into small pieces. No one can eat an elephant in one sitting. However, you can eat an elephant over an extended period of time. So what am I saying, Black Man? Plan your work and work your plan. Stop trying to do it all in one setting. Even God doesn’t think like that. It takes a baby 40 weeks to become fully developed in the womb. A year goes through four seasons to be complete. Trees take years to become fully grown. You get my point...
Last but not least, Black Man, progress is progress! Once you have broken your task into small pieces, start working to complete them. No matter what you do, celebrate the progress you make towards that goal. If you have a health goal and you were supposed to work out and couldn’t get to the gym, drop down and do two push-ups and a sit-up. When you are done, congratulate yourself. Why? Because you did something! Something is better than nothing or as my mama would say, oatmeal is better than no meal. So I'll say it again, progress is progress! Some days you may only go inches in the direction of your goals, some days you may go miles toward your goal. Either way, make sure you do something! Keep Going!
It is human nature to want to physically see the results of our efforts right away and when we don't see them we begin to think what is the point? Fed up with not seeing the desired evidence, most people eventually throw in the towel... You don't want to be that person, you are better than that, just keep going!

Black Man, you don't know when God is going to allow the breakthrough to come. However, we both know that it doesn’t come if we don’t continue to put in the work. Remember, God wants us to take ONE STEP toward him so he can begin WALKING toward us. So no matter how big or small, progress is progress, and that alone needs to be something you should step back and be proud of!
Whether the job is or isn't done, take a moment to pat yourself on your back, and tell yourself "Attaboy!!!" Appreciate your progress and then get back to the grind and push through whatever lies ahead!
Black man you are strong, you are resilient and your picture is in the dictionary next to the word Perseverance! So keep going. Keep Going. KEEP GOING!!!
